Your measurements as the starting pointP1-dongle PRO
The ZinVolt P1 dongle PRO measures your grid import and export. Use your data to find out which home battery suits you best, what you could save, and what the expected payback period is.

Personal answers to your battery questions
Your own grid import and export show how much storage suits your daily routine. You can assess which home battery fits using measurements from your home.
Your measurements as the starting pointGet an estimate of what a home battery could save you based on your electricity usage pattern. See what storage could offer in your situation.
An estimate for your situationCompare the expected payback period with the purchase price and potential savings. This makes it easier to see whether a home battery suits your situation.
Insight before you investThe calculation behind your battery advice
After a period of measurement, we simulate the rest of the year using your data. You can compare battery capacities, potential savings and what a dynamic energy contract with smart control could add.
The timing of your electricity surplus and demand is what makes the difference when choosing a battery.
The app maps your electricity pattern and calculates where storage could help.
Grid import and export at each moment.
Compared from morning to night. When do you export electricity to the grid?
See when a surplus occurs. What can you save for later use?
The app matches your midday surplus to your later consumption. The app matches daytime grid export to grid import later in the day. This shows how much storage fits this pattern.
Enough storage to shift the midday surplus to the evening.
Larger systems do not automatically store much more usable electricity.
Capacity, potential savings and payback time remain directly comparable.
The app compares the results for each capacity. This makes it easy to see why 8 kWh provides the strongest balance in this example.
Storage for your daytime surplus and evening electricity use.

Save your midday surplus for times when you need electricity later.
Compare the potential annual saving with the expected payback time.
After a period of measurement, we quickly simulate the rest of the year using your data.
For €49,99 you get access to the app and your personal battery advice. If you later buy a ZinVolt home battery, we will deduct this amount.
Real data from your home
Your home and the electricity grid
Grid import is electricity you use from the grid. Grid export is electricity you supply to the grid, for example when your solar panels generate more than your home needs. The app shows you when this happens.
Your daily routine at a glance
Your grid import gets going.
Your surplus goes to the grid.
Your grid import increases again.
Your consumption without solar generation.
Compare your daily routine in sunny and cloudy weather.
An annual statement shows your total grid import. The app also shows when you need electricity and when you export it.
What you get in the app
Example scenarioWith enough measurement data, the ZinVolt app calculates which ZinVolt home battery and storage capacity suit you. You receive an estimate of savings and payback time. With more data, we can also simulate what a dynamic energy contract and smart control could add in your situation.
How your battery recommendation is createdUnderstand first, then decide
You want to know what a home battery could mean for your home. That is why we start with your actual electricity pattern. With enough data, we then show which battery suits you and what a dynamic energy contract and smart control could add in your situation.
P1-dongle PRO
Your P1 dongle measures your grid import and export, helping you see which battery suits you.
Your data shows which capacity makes sense, with the corresponding savings and payback period.
A smaller battery may already be enough. You decide what makes sense for your situation.
How it works
Start with one P1 dongle in your smart meter. You do not need a home battery yet. Your own measurements form the basis for your choice.
Plug it into the P1 port of your smart meter. You connect the P1 dongle yourself.
Follow the steps in the app and connect the P1 dongle to your Wi-Fi. You will then see your grid import and export.
Let the P1 dongle measure your electricity pattern. With enough data, you can view your personal battery calculation in the app.
What you need: a smart meter with a P1 port, Wi-Fi near the meter and a smartphone.

You will receive the P1 dongle PRO, access to the ZinVolt app, and your personal battery calculation. Shipping is free. This purchase does not yet include a home battery.
The calculation will be based on your collected measurement data. Any additional connection necessities, such as power supply or a P1 splitter, depend on your smart meter.
No. You start by measuring without buying a home battery. You can continue to use the P1 dongle to monitor your grid import and export. You decide if and when you purchase a ZinVolt home battery yourself.
After connecting and pairing, you will see your current grid import and export in the ZinVolt app. For your battery calculation, the P1 dongle must first collect sufficient measurement data. This is therefore not immediately available upon connection.
Differences between days and seasons are important. A short measurement period does not yet provide a complete annual picture. The calculated savings and payback period remain expectations.
Your measurement data helps you assess a home battery from the ZinVolt range. You gain insight into suitable storage capacity, potential savings, and estimated payback period for your situation. This is not a comparison of all battery brands.
Your measured grid import and export are the basis. This is used to assess how much storage suits the times when you have surplus electricity and need it again later.
Savings and payback period are calculated expectations. Your energy tariff, measurement period, season, and future usage influence the outcome. The calculation helps you choose, but does not guarantee a return.
A smart meter with a suitable P1 port, Wi-Fi near the meter, and the ZinVolt app on your smartphone. The app will guide you through the connection process.
Some meters require additional power via USB-C. If the P1 port is already in use, a suitable P1 splitter may be needed. We are happy to help if you have any questions about connecting your device.
No. Without solar panels, you get insight into your grid consumption. With solar panels, you also see when you feed electricity back into the grid. It is precisely these moments that are useful for assessing how much of your own solar power you could shift to a later time with a home battery.
The P1 dongle reads the grid import and export from your smart meter. This shows you when your home is drawing power from the grid and when you are supplying power to the grid.
The P1 dongle does not separately measure the consumption per appliance or the total generation of your solar panels. Solar power that you use directly in your home does not pass the grid meter as grid import or export.
